K.I.C.K. is a program that will increase a child's energy, esteem, and spirit while they become strong and empowered with confidence. It's not just teaching children to punch and kick, it helps build a child's character and strength. We're not just talking about physical strength--but the kind of strength it takes to resist peer pressure and other negative aspects of life. The Martial arts teach children life lessons and help them achieve academic success, develop life goals, avoid peer pressure, stay fit and live a healthy lifestyle.
Program Format
The program consists of a 45 min-1 hour class (age specific) twice weekly for children 4-12 years old with a class of 8-10 students to ensure a low instructor to student ratio.
Ages 5-8 participate in our Lil' Dragons Program:
The ages of 5-8 are important years of a child’s development. The skills learned in our Lil’ Dragons program will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. Your child will have fun while learning a wide variety of skills all within a safe and exciting environment.
Skills are taught and drilled in a relaxed atmosphere that uses the Martial Art of Goshin Ryu Karate as a vehicle to teach respect, citizenship, and self- discipline.
The Martial Arts uses the Belt Rank Progression System to teach students to establish goals and see them through. They'll maintain interest and receive positive re-enforcement for their efforts by being awarded color belts and attendance stripes. Their success and rewards are not just about their time in class but are directly linked to their grades and respect at home with parents. Ultimately, this leads to better concentration at school, better grades, and improved manners at home.
We make achievement a habit, not a chore!
Children will learn life lessons that will assure a future of success. Children are enrolled in a program that is committed to keeping them away from drugs and gangs. Recent studies show that programs like this that focus on personal achievement are even more effective than team sports!

Mental Development
To give a child the courage to say NO in the face of peer pressure! One of the scariest problems facing many parents today is the possibility that their child may become involved with drugs. The number of children taking drugs at a younger age is staggering. K.I.C.K. helps promote anti-drug awareness as well as teach anger management and conflict resolution. The program is designed to promote self-confidence and self-esteem--giving children the strength to resist peer pressure.
To help them succeed in life! K.I.C.K. will teach the child how to set goals and take responsibility for their own actions. These qualities, more than any others, will help the child develop as a leader and not as a follower. This, in turn, will ensure their success in school, college and life!

To help children develop physically! The program develops balance, coordination and timing in children. They also increase their speed, stamina and agility, which helps a child in sports and other activities.

Realistic Self-Defense Skills
That could save a child's life! While we all wish it weren't a factor in our society, the fact remains that we live in a world full of undesirable people. Children don't get a false sense of reality by learning how to be victorious in competition. This program teaches children how to protect themselves in real life threatening situations. This invaluable skill could be the difference between life and death!

The Founder
Randy McElwee, is a retired Master Sergeant and decorated Special Forces combat veteran with 16 years of unique world-class Martial Arts Instructional experience. He has trained, taught, and helped children all over the world to include Afghanistan, Pakistan, Africa, and central America. Even teaching in their native language conducting medical relief operations and as a member of a United Nations Humanitarian Initiative instructing the children of Afghanistan mine awareness in their native language.
He has a 4TH Degree Blackbelt in Kama Bushi Kai Karate', a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Goshin Ryu Ju Jitsu, 1st Degree Blackbelt in Shotokan Karate', and he is certified as an a Goshin Ryu Ju Jitsu Instructor, a Kama Bushi Kai Karate' Instuctor, a Gracie Resisting Attack Procedures for Law Enforcement (G.R.A.P.L.E.) Instructor, a Georgia Peace Officer's Training Council Defensive Tactics Instructor, and an American Council on Martial Arts Certified Instructor requiring specialized training in children's educational techniques.

You're never too young to believe in success !!
While serving at the University of Georgia as the Senior Military Instructor he taught Leadership, Physical Fitness, Goal Development, and Time Management as well as self defense programs for the Military Science Department. In April of 2003 his Security Awareness Fundament Elements & Techniques (SAFE-T) Course was named Recreational Program of the Year by the University of Georgia Residence Hall Association.

We're REALLY HAPPY here (American Black Belt Academy). We tried another karate studio and had a very different experience. He's responding much better here.
